The most recent design project that I tackled was a logo and social media design for Filmpster.com.
My good friend Jaleesa is the creator of the site and I was happy to work beside her on this design project! She is one of the funniest people I know and it was a true joy to design this for her.
What is Filmpster?
Filmpster is an indie movie blog with a splash of mainstream. It serves as a place to promote the film and TV scene in the DFW (Dallas/Forth Worth) area, from all things creative, casting calls and crew calls.
How did Filmpster get such a unique name?
Filmpster got the name in the most boring way. I was sitting at my desk thinking I need to come up with a blog to NOT get kicked out of media press junkets and still seem legit. So, I took “film” and part of “hipster” then created Filmpster. I liked the idea of it being minimalist and creative like a ‘hipster’ but still very… well, popular.
For some reason, it’s a name that just sticks when you see it but when you say it out loud, you have to start off slow.
What were your goals for the project? What did you need? Why did you need this project completed?
My goal for the project was to establish a minimalist, yet trendy design for my blog and print materials. I needed social media icons and a logo for my website.
This project needed to be completed before film festival season which was on the horizon. As a new blogger, I needed something that resonated with my movie going audience.
How do you feel about the design? Were your goals met?
I love the design. I feel it represents my blog and myself extremely well.
The goals were absolutely met and Brandi worked diligently to ensure I was ultimately satisfied with the design and it was a good representation of what I wanted to achieve.
Would you hire me again? 😉
Absolutely! I really enjoyed the process and how it was incredibly easy, NOT stressful and professional.
